The importance of complete acne and rosacea treatment regimens that include appropriate polytherapy, routine skin care and encouraging compliant behavior are presented by Hilary Baldwin, MD, Acne Treatment and Research Center. Emphasis will be placed on the avoidance of antibiotic resistance and long-term physical and psychological sequelae. Treatment of difficult cases including patients with concomitant physical and psychological problems, pregnancy, and lactation will be reviewed.

At the conclusion of this session, attendees will:

• Recognize the importance of quality skin care for patients with acne and rosacea.
• Evaluate the use of non-antibiotics in the treatment of acne and rosacea to reduce the riskof antibiotic resistance.
• Review the treatment of complex patients.
