When Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) revealed her diagnosis of alopecia areata, it shined a spotlight on the condition, especially for patients with skin of color. Dr. Okoye discusses the approach to evaluate hair loss in the skin of color patient including the recognition of common forms of hair loss, appropriate biopsy techniques for diagnostic accuracy and the management of these particular patients.
