Faculty: David Altman, MD, FAAD, Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Internal Medicine, Michigan State University School of Medicine
David Altman, MD, FAAD, provides an overview of the diagnosis and management of some of the less famous, but still important cutaneous malignancies such as Merkel cell carcinoma, sebaceous carcinoma and microcystic adnexal carcinoma, all of which a dermatological provider must be familiar. He also reviews some of the more common non-mycosis fungoides cutaneous lymphomas as well as some patterns of metastatic disease. After listening to the Deeper Dialogue, attendees will be able to:
- Identify a diagnosis and provide treatment recommendations for less common actinic-induced malignancies such as microcystic adnexal carcinoma and atypical fibroxanthoma.
- Identify a diagnosis and management of increasingly more common Merkel cell carcinoma.
- Identify a diagnosis and management of some mesenchymal tumors that arise in the skin such as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
- Recognize some patterns of metastatic malignancies to the skin.
